November 2018 Update

Welcome Friends of the KINdom to our inaugural newsletter!

First of all, thank you for subscribing! We quietly launched a few months ago, with the mission to offer fashionable apparel and accessories with one or more combinations of the following eco-friendly materials categories: sustainable, reclaimed, recycled, and indigenous (you can read about them here). In addition, we only develop and produce these goods with fair trade, compliant suppliers domestically in the USA and overseas. Slowly but surely, we hope to grow our participation in the very important slow fashion movement, and hope that our efforts, combined with others, continue to persevere in making a big difference for the planet and all living things.

Participating at the Fair Trade Fashion Show & Marketplace this past November 11, 2018, we were inspired by the wise words of Fashion Revolution founder Orsola de Castro, and the hopeful presentation of child prodigies Lauryn Varnell and Violet Affleck (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's daughter). Miss de Castro expressed the importance of being aware that the fashion industry "affects 100% of the population... It encompasses so many other industries from agriculture to communication in its complicated supply chain, so it has the power to lead"; while Lauryn and Violet spoke about their work with sustainability awareness in childhood education. Both speeches urged the audience to vote with their dollars and be conscious of their purchases and consumption. Watch the full video of Orsola de Castro's speech here:

Following the Fair Trade Marketplace, come join us this December in launching our holiday capsule collection at a handful of pop-ups. Dates and locations will be sent in an upcoming newsletter, so please stay tuned!

Looking forward to sharing more adventures and progress in the KINdom with you.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
