Sister of Ice & Snow, Sister of Ocean & Sand

Have you ever seen a glacier? For those of us who are lucky to at least see it once in a lifetime, it’s awe-inspiring, breathtaking, and calls one to feel reverence.

As part of our limited edition #DestinationPollution series, our “Melting Glaciers” organic cotton t-shirt is a product of such inspiration. But in our virtual journey for others who were also inspired, we came across this incredible poem and performance by indigenous poets Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner and Aka Niviâna. Filmed by Dan Lin on an isolated area on southern Greenland’s ice sheet, their poem “Rise” is recited atop a melting glacier. We just had to share it here, and hope you are inspired as we are.
